did this one as a sort of escape route from the St. Marys Loch area and the description is just about correct. Tight, nadgery, quiet with some interesting corners and scenery. Take it easy, laid back and youll enjoy. Start trying to scratch it and it may end in tears.....
Get yourself to Kielder, don't stop at the shops at main attractions its to expensive instead go to the small garage at the end of Castle Drive and fill up and grab a cuppa, head for Saughtree and through Castleton when you get to the village of Newcastleton halfway through the village turn right on to the old moor road, care is needed here as the road is only about 5 foot wide and single traffic with passing points on the way its about 16 Km then through Langholm on to the B7068 for 27 Km to Lockerbie, this route is more intended for the layed back rider at a steady pace, But take extra care at this bend Lat 55.16907N Long 2.92402W as it creeps up on you and if you miss it there is a drop over the top about 150 foot to the bottom (ouch) scenery is excellent on a good clear day.
