This is a great ride, some nice scenery as well, alot of the road is national speed limit, great road for learners to use as well.

Use this road a lot much better than the motorway,just watch for plod have come across them a few times usually at Whitchurch end. faz

Great alternative to the M6. Watch out for police camera van on my trip it was at Cuddington.

Have travelled this road several times from M66 south[there is a pub at junct 10 just 100yds south of junct with motorway,if riding south turn first right down short road and at end turn right again called the Hollow Tree, good for coffee and food]
A49 great all the way down to Hereford and then follow A466 south to Monmouth and onto Chepstow through wye valley and tintern abbey. bit winding by side of river there but abbey well worth a stop
At Whitchurch, junct A41 and A49 There is a Big Breakfast every spring at a truckers stop at a place called Prees Heath something to do with Bike Guide Mag. about 3000 bikes get there worth looking out for.

from warrington to whitchurch is a great road, from the M56 section on the A49 its very fast and some really nice corners, heading towards Oulton park is a good run but lots of side roads, got to keep an eye out, once you get past the A534/A49 crossroads it opens up to a more interesting ride, still be on gaurd as it is farming area. Oh, and get on the A41 thats good too

top road well better than boring yourself to death on the m6 if ive got the time i always use this route going south

Good call. An excellent road, and a great alternative to heading north on the motorway.

I've used this route a few times from Warrington to Monmouth it's a steady enjoyable route which would suit all classes of rider

Mostly medium/high speed flowing bends and some good straights. Midway Cafe (just south of Whitchurch) is a nice place to stop on this route.
