It reminds me Triglav at Slovenia, similar surface, but there was stones in the corners, here are mostly on straight, so much better for riding
I am surprised that no one mentioned that this pass is mostly cobblestone. I always take friends that have never been to Switzerland on this pass because it is so unique. The cobblestone is in good shape and is maintained well. It is very twisty and has a couple of dozen switchbacks. This pass is much more fun going up from South to North, so if you start on the North, take the St Gotthard pass down and go back up on Tremola.
Yep I agree, can be busy but if you are lucky its one of the better passes.
This is a great alternative to the tunnel, certainly worth it if you're taking this route. No slower than the tunnel when it's queuing too.
Not the best biking road in Europe, but certainly some spectacular hairpins and dramatic views to rival the Stelvio. Usual blind hairpins and tourist traffic problems apply. Spectacular nonetheless
