This one's a stonker, I love it!! But instead of heading down to LLanwddyn, take the B4391 to Pen-Y-Bont Fawr and then on to Bala. A couple of tight hairpins, some mud occasionally but a nice route. Once you get to Bala, go over the A494 and onto the A4212, this section is a race track standard road. Watch the rozzers at Fron Goch (40MPH limit), the north end of Llyn Celyn and in the Dip approx 4 miles from Trawsfynydd. The 4212 joins the A470 there at a T-Junction. Turn Right and head for Bleanau Ffestiniog. Stay on the A470 until you get to Betws-Y-Coed. The A470 meets the A5 here. (If you need to gas up, fill up at the Waterloo Shell station, Cheapest around for miles, turn LEFT at the A470/A5 junction, follow it round to the left and the Shell is on the left just over the bridge) Turn right onto the A5, heading south. Follow this all the way back to Nesscliffe. There's some nice twisties in different sections all the way down. The locations of the cameras is posted daily in the local paper.. "THE DAILY POST" under the heading "Speed watch". Only fixed cameras in north wales are in Abergele on the A548. The whole area is covered by 5 vans.
Nice slightly mountainous run out of Shropshire and into Wales. Very rewarding rural section easily accessible from the A5 at Nesscliffe
