Did a nice circular route incorporating cat and fiddle, Buxton, Snake Pass, Woodhead, Holmfirth and back home over Saddleworth moor, but the tar spraying never took place and all the stone chippings that were piled up in the car park have been removed to somewhere else.
I might be new to biking, but on my R1200GS on 8 August 2005, I was going on a route to Meltham as told to me by my Dad (SV650), only the road is about to be tar sprayed and gravelled over... don't want to go back up to check until I'm more used to the GS.
Not wrong about the bumps on the long straight at the top of the moors towards Holmfirth - hard to hold on at speed.
Nice little run 30-60min run Start of at greenfield on Holmfirth Rd (A635). Go over saddleworth more, some nice corners to start with. As you get to the top of the moor theres a chance to really get your speed up on a nice long straight, with loads of visibilty
